The Summer Fellows program provides an alternative to the Summer Scholars program. The program is ideal for those who wish to undertake a smaller scale project, who have been working on projects during the academic year and would like to continue research in the summer, or who wish to begin projects that will continue during next academic year.
Students may combine the Summer Fellows award with a schedule of courses or with other employment at UD or outside of UD. However, students may not combine the Fellows award with another summer research-funded opportunity from UD
Summer Fellowship awards range from $300-1500 depending on the amount of time committed to the project. For questions please contact Dr. Lauren Barsky, Associate Director of the Undergraduate Research Program: lbarsky@udel.edu
Application materials will include:
- An outline of your proposed research project
- The number of weeks you expect to devote to the project during the summer
- The average number of hours per week you expect to devote to your research project this summer
- Whether or not you plan on holding a job or taking a class this summer in addition to doing research
- A letter of recommendation from the faculty mentor who has agreed to sponsor your research
