Abstract
“Be(lie)ve Me,” is a point-and-click adventure game set in the Victorian era. It aims to blend a compelling narrative with significant player freedom. By allowing users to shape the story through their actions, the game ensures that player’s decisions influence character reactions and plot outcomes. The narrative delves into critical themes such as sexism and wealth disparity, providing players with a rich storytelling experience.
The game leverages Unity’s versatility and robust capabilities to create an immersive environment that effectively brings the intricacies of the Victorian setting to life. The player’s journey is designed to be interactive and responsive, ensuring that each decision made, meaningfully alters the storyline.
The development process of the game involved several key steps: crafting the storyline with its potential decisions and endings, creating and designing characters, drawing icons, characters, and backgrounds, and learning to utilize Unity to integrate these elements cohesively. The attention to detail in the storyline and visual design ensures an engaging and visually appealing experience for players.
